The Kwale Eye Centre is proud to carry a selection of enhanced lens implants for patients undergoing cataract removal.
The standard recovery time following cataract or refractive lens exchange is 1 to 2 days. To ensure proper healing and a long-term improvement to your vision, please avoid heavy lifting, the use of swimming pools or hot tubs, and participating in any contact sports. During the first 2 weeks after surgery, please use the medicated eye drops provided by your doctor as directed as these help your eye during recovery.
Please note, for some levels of astigmatism, an additional procedure may be needed to treat this condition either before or after refractive lens exchange. This may take the form of a laser enhancement procedure to “fine tune” your new lens. Each patient is an individual case and any recommendations will be given based on your medical history and how well your eyes adjust to the new lenses.
